In the past, automation of Word documents has been realized most of all by programming macros or using Word automation.

 

The Solution

By now, the XML based document formats of Microsoft Word® enable additionally to modify documents without utilizing Microsoft Word®. TDIWiz takes advantage of this improvement and provides surely the easiest and fastest way to meet all these needs, even without programming any line of code.

 

With minimal effort of preparation Word documents or emails may be generated automatically by populating predefined templates with application data (XML or CSV data, datasets, Excel worksheets). As MS Word is not used for document assembling, TDIWiz can also be run server-side and can be integrated into any workflow process.

Functionality

Creation, design and test of sample documents occur in the familiar MS Word environment and are extremely easy and comfortable.

 

When designing a template the operator may identify the following: 

• Which data should be mapped to which positions of the document.
• Which parts of the template should appear only conditionally in the created document. This feature makes it possible to specify different text variants in the template and to activate/deactivate them depending on current data content.
• Which parts of the template should be assigned to multiple data and duplicated depending on their number. Hierarchical data structures may be reproduced very easily by nesting such areas!
• For special tasks, TDIWiz offers additionally the opportunity to define 'procedures' in an easy script language. These can be used to create document content.

When invoking the TDIWiz DLL to process a template necessary parameters are only the sample document and input data. Furthermore, processing may be controlled by setting options or supplying variables.

 

But processing may also be initiated directly from MS Word via the administration component for the active document, allowing for immediate testing!
